AF INDUSTRY: The Importance of Grading in Film

60 min.

only in Slovak

This masterclass will focus on presenting the post-production work of a Grading Artist. It will clearly explain what grading—color correction—is, and why it matters. A brief theoretical section will cover the technical aspects of grading, while a longer, practical section will use real examples to show the work of a Grading Artist and Operator, highlighting how their work affects the final image and the viewer's perception. The session will also touch on the impact of grading during the filming stage, emphasizing preparation of material for future color correction.

Martin Polerecký is a freelance cinematographer and camera operator. He works on films, TV series, and commercials. His passion for cinematography naturally led him to color grading, which he now pursues professionally, primarily using DaVinci Resolve.
