
AF INDUSTRY: Masterclass - Dušan Trancik
The masterclass with director Dušan Trančík will focus on his body of work, from his early beginnings to the present.
A graduate of FAMU in Prague (1970), Mgr. Doc. Art.D., he was a permanent director at Slovak Film Production from 1969 to 1991. Over the course of his nearly 50-year professional artistic career, he has directed thirteen feature films and numerous documentaries. He has long been active in artistic associations, serving as chairman or vice-chairman of the Slovak Film Union, the Union of Slovak Film and Television Directors, and the Slovak Film and Television Academy.
He is a member of the European Film Academy. Since 1994, he has taught at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, where he completed his doctoral studies in 2001. From 1997 to 2000, he lectured at the Film and Television School in Zlín. Between 2000 and 2002, he served as Director General of the Media and Audiovisual Department at the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic. From 2002 to 2004, he was head of the Directing Department at FAMU in Prague.
