A programme dedicated to presenting the activities of the Košice Region Film Office, supporting audiovisual production in the region, and fostering connections between film professionals and the public.

Filming Evenings is a project of the Košice Region Film Office aimed at systematically developing the regional film community while creating a platform for discussion, experience sharing, and professional networking.

The third edition of Filming Evening will feature Košice-based directors Katarína Gramatová and Martin Gonda. The programme will also include special screenings of their acclaimed debut films Promise, I’ll be fine and Flood.

14:15 – 16:00 | Screening: Flood (102 min.)

The debut feature by Košice-based director Martin Gonda is also the first fiction film ever made in the Rusyn language. Set in the 1980s, the film explores the relationship between a father and daughter against the backdrop of the forced displacement of villages due to the construction of the Starina reservoir.

The film received six Sun in a Net Awards, including Best Screenplay, Best Sound, Best Production Design, Best Actress in a Leading Role, Best Actor in a Supporting Role, and the Audience Award.

16:20 – 18:00 | Screening: Promise, I’ll be fine (93 min.)

The debut film by Košice-based director Katarína Gramatová follows the emotionally charged story of Enrique, a teenage boy growing up in a so-called “hungry village,” who, over the course of one summer, is forced to confront the collapse of his idealised perception of his mother.

The film captures the complexities of everyday life, family relationships, and the search for personal identity. For her direction, Katarína Gramatová received the Czech Lion Award.
