Bea de Visser’s new film, with the subtitle Why am I me and why not you, premiered in the main international competition at the Oberhausen IFF and received a nomination for Best Dutch Short Film of 2024. It is a remarkable 15-minute film experience in which the viewer becomes someone else through an authentic audiovisual representation of the animal's subjective point of view. Bea de Visser said: "A vision of a daily practice of the relationship between horse and human, experienced by the horse on a journey through her world, where she is transported, sedated, treated and guided, interspersed with an unexpected bliss of being there. The horse’s POV is the most effective element of the film. The human is introduced as a screen viewer who follows, measures and records her as an object."
No Horses on Mars is the sequel to the film The Animal That Therefore I Am (2019) screened at the Art Film Fest IFF in 2019.
