Biologist Jura’s story is set in southern Ukraine before the approaching war. In the forest, where he is researching marmots, he sees a group of men light a fire. With photographs proving the crime, he tries to persuade the Pravda Stepi editors to publish his investigative article. But so soon before the mayoral election, no one seems to care about the burning forest on the horizon. The political party Without Borders is organizing a celebration of a gas pipeline’s opening, even though no pipes have been laid. Jura, as editorial photographer, records everything. The editor-in-chief is not happy because the politicians have paid for advertising, and he doesn't need an active investigator. "When will the chaos stop and when will the war end in Ukraine?", he asks a beekeeper by a sunflower field. The stakes are high in this sad tragicomedy with undertones of black humor.
