This comedy/crime drama is an elegant adaptation of the biography of gentleman-robber Forrest Tucker (1920–2004), who made his mark with several non-violent bank robberies, while also achieving notoriety as a prison-break virtuoso. The film recounts various episodes from the life of the charismatic criminal. Later in life, he met the woman of his dreams. But he loved nothing more than a good game of cat-and-mouse, where the mouse was his old friend, the police detective. Robert Redford, with a long and illustrious film career behind him, earned a Golden Globe nomination with what he has said is his farewell role.
