Peter Švrček is a well-dressed, selfconfident young man who believes that what his generation lacks is leadership and a role model. This motivates him to organize some rather unique weekend activities in the Slovakian forests. With a few like-minded peers, he founded the Slovenskí Branci, the ‘Slovak Recruits’, which offer young locals paramilitary training and a hierarchical group structure. Švrček is a born leader, calm and polite. He handles troublesome situations with ease, a smile rarely leaving his lips. Participants in his events are volunteers, and his organization has yet to be banned. With an authentic proximity to its subject, this film follows the ambitious leader as well as a young recruit undergoing a test in order to join the organization. The day-to-day routine and private moments of both protagonists alternate with expressions of longing and determination from the members of this anti-European militia.
