The legendary horror classic The Omen celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2026 and remains one of the most iconic works in horror cinema history. Director Richard Donner crafted a chilling story about American diplomat Robert Thorn, who secretly adopts a newborn boy named Damien after the tragic loss of his own child. Unaware that the boy may be the prophesied Antichrist, Robert gradually finds himself surrounded by mysterious deaths and terrifying events that shake both his faith and his sanity.

The film became renowned not only for its dark atmosphere and shocking scenes, but also for the unforgettable score by composer Jerry Goldsmith, who won an Academy Award for the soundtrack. The famous piece “Ave Satani” remains one of the most memorable musical themes in horror history. Six-year-old Harvey Stephens was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best New Star of the Year for his performance in the film.
