13-year-old Lili is desperately
trying to save her dog Hagen from
absurd and cruel bureaucratic
regulations that ban the ownership
of crossbreeds. She cannot accept
her father’s arguments, and she is
shocked when he throws her beloved pet from the car. Devastated, Lili
curses her father’s betrayal, but in the
innocent belief that love can overcome any obstacle, and despite her
adverse circumstances, she resolves
to find and save Hagen.
“It’s no secret that after the films I’ve
made thus far, I am turning towards
genre experiments. The first of these is
White God, inspired mostly by preposterous and increasingly rancorous
present-day social relations. […] Superiority has truly become the privilege
of white, Western civilization…Yes, us.
After all, we are the members of this
privileged mass. Hence, I would like to
create a film which allows a glimpse of
the passions raging on the other side,
criticizing our detestable self-confidence, full of lies and lopsided truths…
hypocritically denying inequalities, not
believing in either peace or in peaceful
cohabitation.”
