This crowd-pleasing musical film tells the story of Rabaka, a disbanded rock group that decides to return to the stage once again. With the help of young song- and scriptwriter Peter, they try to gather the necessary equipment and put together a whole new set of songs entitled Return of the Little Prince. Based on an original idea by Boris Filan, Dušan Rapoš created a film that draws inspiration from the backstage exploits of one of Czechoslovakia’s most popular music groups: Elán. The film even stars Elán themselves: musicians Jožo Ráž, Ján Baláž, Martin Karvaš and Gabriel Szabo. Featuring songs from the band’s album of the same name, Rabaka’s cinema release was met by remarkable audience turnout all across Czechoslovakia. On the occasion of the film’s 30th anniversary, Art Film Fest is screening a version digitally restored by the Slovak Film Institute.
