The camera is a fantastic machine. This film is a thought-provoking examination of humanity’s infatuation with itself, and with framing the world through the camera’s lens. Filmmakers Axel Danielson & Maximilien Van Aertryck once again turn their cameras directly on society, this time to explore, explain and expose how our unchecked obsession with image has grown to change our human behavior. In the process, the filmmakers also raise the question of societal consequences stemming from the image out put of 45 billion cameras on the will contribute to 500 hours of image suploaded on to the internet every minute. Filmmakers bring their trade mark humor, keen socio-anthropological eye, and penetrating point of view to our screens, allowing for a great deal of laughter amidst deep self-reflection and some times shocking self-assessment.
The film won World Cinema Documentary Special Jury Award at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival.
