The Prime of Life is Jakubisko's long-feature debut. The screenplay was written by Jakubisko with Lubor Dohnal, and shot by the talented and inventive Igor Luther. The film tells the story of 33-year-old artist Juraj who decides the future direction of his life. He sees life as a game without rules, and his relationships with women are equally frivolous. He is the opposite of his brother Andrej, a rational army aviator. Juraj's life takes an unexpected turn when he learns of Andrej's unfortunate death. That's when he decides to start a new life, as if realizing that life is more than a game.
