In his latest film, documentary filmmaker Jaro Vojtek raises the urgent topic of gastarbeiters – people travelling abroad on week-long business trips. He depicts the universal phenomenon through three individual stories: a truck driver, a nanny in Austria and a group of workers. It reflects their dreams and aspirations, as well as the sacrifices they make when their loved ones depend on their income while they are in foreign cities – in hostels, in strangers' homes. What is happening to them? What are they dreaming about? In the film, Jaro Vojtek and screenwriter Marek Leščák explore the reasons of their decision to work outside their native country and raise the important question of whether working abroad instead of providing a stable family situation and close relationships results in the exact opposite. The film premiered at the Ji.hlava IDFF.
